Skype is a great internet telephone service. It is much better than your average VOIP, if you know what that is, VERY much better. I use it almost exclusively for all my telephone and communication needs. 1. IT COSTS ONLY .017 CENTS A MINUTE TO CALL EUROPE AND THE US. No connection fee. 2. Skype to Skype calls are FREE. No more chatting online, you can talk to everyone who has a connection! I highly recommend it if you make lots of international phone calls, it will save you tons of money. So grab yourself a cheap pair of headphones with a mic, and get yourself a skype account. It costs nothing to download and register. And if you want to try it out, give me a call at alex_sangriastudios - that is my skype name. Our second recommendation is Mozilla Firefox with Google toolbar. Everyone knows about Google, but not too many about Firefox. Firefox is the main competitor to Internet Explorer and as far as I am concerned the only browser you need. It is available for Mac and PC. The advantages are numerous, one being that it has tabbed browsing, and another that it isn't integrated into the Windows Operating system, so it is more difficult for malicious web sites to infect your computers with nasty programs. Mozilla is free to download, so I recommend giving it a try. It comes with a lot of interesting items if you are willing to looking into all its features. One is the dictionary search, integrated into the upper right corner. Finally, if you don't want to shell out a lot of dough for Microsoft Office, this FREE software will do the job. It opens and saves documents as office docs. Go to http://www.openoffice.org to download it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us at Sangria Studios. We are always willing to help. |
